The best thing the Global Village gave me are the people I’ve met
Orly Yeruham, Global Village 2007
I would like to share an experience I’ve had during the program – One of the villagers was a woman from Italy, who in that time worked in the UN, and lived in different Arab countries (Including Lebanon). She had firm opinions about Israel and the Israelis.
I had no intentions to change her idea, but as time passed we became very close – during the last night of the program, she told me that I have changed her perception and that she now understand how complicated our story is. In that moment I’ve realized the strength of the program – Only this kind of “Bubble” can create an atmosphere where people can really be open to absorbing new ideas and thoughts.
